  1. Hey Mark. Tom Maxwell here. I just wanted to let you know that I continue to admire your work, only wishing that I could somehow do the restaurant thing. I know we’ve chatted before but if you could give me some ideas and solid tips on how to get into it, approach potential clients, etc., that would be awesome. How do you get a restaurant to let you in, photograph there patrons, kitchen, etc., without that being attached to a magazine assignment.
    Also, just saw the Gropener and just might have to buy one. Hope you’re having a great Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate. Peace.

    It’s good to hear from you. I’m not sure what to suggest. Maybe event shooting can open a door. Maybe developing a relationship with a restaurant over time as a customer will do it. Maybe contact some of the people who are doing the PR for some restaurants for ideas and if they like the idea of candid images, maybe they can interest their client in it.
    If I can think of more, I’ll let you know.
